Rewind to 2011 and I was at Tinie Tempah after party at North Greenwich O2 Proud2 club since its closure there’s been a void to the area. In its replacement the hip and fun Brooklyn Bowl appeared. Hip American style bowling alley, a stage for live gigs and classic American food is on offer. People like Pharell Williams and Trey Songz will be performing live soon.
Brooklyn Bowl is all rock and roll themed; it’s all an American affair. Invited down to try out the Elvis menu, I started off with the Cuban Mistress. A gigantic glass filled with exotic fruits Havana Club shaken hard.
The Elvis Menu was filled with old school American fast food classics. Deep Fried Chicken, rock and roll fries with gravy, gooey cheese and Cajun spice. King Sandwich was filled with peanut butter and banana grilled in sweet butter, meatloaf washed down with shake, rattle and roll super thick peanut, vanilla and banana milkshakes.
The next dish seemed a little unusual with its sweet and savoury components. Southern biscuits and gravy, is a baked biscuit with a short crust filled with sausage and bacon gravy.
My favourite out the lot were the pulled pork sliders and sticky pork rack ribs. Southern pecan pie was a perfect for the sweet craving after eating tons of savoury foods.
After my fill we all a laugh at the bowling alley, with big TV screens playing muted music videos whilst having music blaring from the live performance of the stage of an impersonator Elvis. I wasn’t too bad came third to last and broke a few nails but it was all for fun.
