About Ellen Chew
Ellen, a leading restaurateur in London, founded Chinatown’s Singaporean restaurant Rasa Sayang in 2008. Her passion for dynamic and nuanced East and Southeast Asian cooking led her to form the expanding Chew On This collection of restaurants. At 7th Cat, you can indulge in authentic dishes like Cantonese Aged Roast Duck, Pork Belly, Prawn Siu Mai, and Chargrilled Chicken Satay.
We had a fantastic spread of classic Cantonese food, duck aged for two days before being roasted. You can see them hanging by the stainless-steel hooks on display. Char siu is juicy and surrounded by bouncy fats.
Wonton soup noodles hit the spot, a light fragrant both, bite into succulent plump prawns wrapped in silky skins. The noodles have an excellent bite and softness.
From the small plate’s selection, chicken satay is chargrilled to perfection along with the sweet and savoury peanut sauce. Popcorn chicken is deep fried, seasoned with spicy powdered served with chilli sauce. Crispy pork strips are cooked just right and have enough crunch to them.
Whether you’re craving the ultimate indulgence of Cantonese Cuisine with Wonton noodles soup or the comforting warmth of the broth and succulent prawn fillings in Prawn Siu Mai, the Chinese kitchen at 7th Cat uses only the freshest, premium ingredients in the market. Their duck supplier, Silver Hill Duck, is renowned for producing the best ducks in the world. The Irish company has been selling their ducks to London Chinatown since 1984.
And don’t forget to satisfy your sweet tooth with their decadent Ice Cream Mochi, available in flavours like chocolate ganache truffle, strawberries & cream, coconut, honey roasted pistachio, mango, and salted caramel. You can also try their Golden Lava Bao Buns filled with a molten, oozing centre of rich salted egg or the fluffy Mantou Buns, lightly sweetened and paired perfectly with a condensed milk sauce.
7th Cat 七猫 celebrates the unique spirit and energy of Chinese culture through its gastronomy. Their goal is to provide a wholesome yet delicious offering that is fresh and unpretentious. With age-old traditional cooking methods and recipes, they create exquisite flavours with zero compromises on quality and taste, allowing you to savour the best of Asian cuisine right in the heart of London.
