Ingredients

  • 2 pieces chicken thighs
  • 4 pieces gar bao
  • 1 iceberg lettuce
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp sake
  • 1/2 tbsp mirin
  • 1 tbsp Japanese mayo
  • 1 tbsp siracha

Instructions

  1. Remove the skin and fat from the chicken, poke with a fork than cut into bite size pieces

  2. Make the marinade and coat the chicken for 30 mins

  3. Start steaming your frozen baos for 30 mins

  4. Wrap chicken in paper towels and damp dry

  5. Wash and prepare your lettuce

  6. Start making the spicy mayo by combine the two ingredients together and mix well

  7. Once it’s ready, heat the oil up for deep frying. Just before you fry the chicken coat the chicken in potato starch.

  8. Fry until it’s cooked through usually about 10 minutes than place the chicken on paper towels to absorb oil.

  9. Take your steamed buns stuff with lettuce leaves, fried chicken pieces squeeze a bit of lemon and smother with the spicy mayo sauce.

  10. Hope you enjoy this really simple and easy to follow recipe. If you do try this at home tag and comment to let me know how it went.
