They been around for 17 years and is run by a family. I was invited along to a press diner evening with food influencers. The restaurant is quite small inside but is very live and buzzing.

We started off with a bread basket and a selection of Antipasto to share. Then out came the bruschetta and a pan of tiger prawns bathe in a sauce made up of tomatoes, garlic, basil. Bruschetta is a Tuscan bread usually topped with chopped tomatoes, olive oil, red onions. It’s super crispy and doesn’t get soggy even with the toppings on it.

The next pasta selection we had was perfection. Usually I am disappointed with lobster ravioli in most places, but Forty Dean Street one has plenty of lobster flesh.

Cutting through the enveloped pillows of velvet ravioli reveals chunks of lobster meat pieces. Bisque sauce is intensely thick and rich with plenty of seafood flavours.

Seafood linguine has a deeper flavour, a carousel of different seafood mixed in with cherry tomatoes and brandy sauce. Both pastas tasted very fresh, beautiful texture, a palatal bliss.

Another stellar dish had to be the lamb chops, marinated with rosemary and honey. Lamb chops cooked perfectly for the meat to fall off the bone. Underneath the salad are the mustard crushed potatoes ready to burst from the skin into a fluffy cloud.

forty dean street desserts

We ended the night we a selection of miniature Italian desserts presented on a chalk black board. We had to fight each other for them. Forty Dean Street is a great option for an affordable Italian restaurant in the heart of Soho, pasta dishes are impressive with quality.
